A misty morning to start with, but soon enough the fog lifted, people showed up and started running around, and it even got sunny for a bit. A good assortment of Juniors showed up and participated in training and competition. It's good to see this program taking off!
Speaking of “taking off” it's a good thing Paul Roome and Greg Khanlarov negotiated a reasonable interval between their runs, as Paul (1st place) might otherwise have caught Greg (2nd place) on the Combo Orange course. Another notable contest was seen on the Sprint Orange course, with Stephanie Maclean edging out Sheila Cotter and Anna Staats (all three finishing in consecutive places).
It was nice to see some newer orienteers start with the White course and proceed to Yellow, some even going from Yellow to the Long Orange course.
As usual it took teamwork to make this event happen. Much appreciation to those who volunteered:
