A big thanks to the 60 club volunteers who competed at the Bon Tempe event. The sunny December day, green hills, and soft footing made for perfect conditions. Bill Cusworth's wonderful new map was very popular. Such a joy to have a map of Bon Tempe with thorough detail.

The competition was friendly but fierce. The full results are below.

  • On the Red course, Mark Prior took a lead over Matej Šebo and the rest of the pack at control #7. A lead he never relinquished. Penny DeMoss came in strong as the first women.
  • There was a great race on the Green Course. Derek Maclean gained a big lead, but then had trouble at control #11 on the hillside of death, and was caught by Marie-Josée Parayre. In the end, Derek held off Marie-Josée by 8 seconds. Daniel Šebo was the first junior.
  • On Brown, Dennis Wildfogel and Bob Cooley battled again through the terrain, with Dennis edging Bob by less than 3 minutes. Stephanie Maclean was in 4th place as the first women.

  • Bill Cusworth helped with the setup.
  • The control pickup crew consisted of Greg Ehrensing, Steve Gregg, Misha Kreslavsky, Joe Maffei, Marina Keating, and Aron Walker.
