For our 11th Annual Holiday Lights event, we had 16 teams in the 60-minute division, and 35 teams in the 90-minute division. In comparison to last year's event, this represented a small shift in teams from the 90-minute category to the 60-minute category. We estimated about 150 people were out on the course. It was a bit hard to tell, because Brad and I switched up our roles this year, but it seemed like there were more attendees than last year.
Peter Graube had a good crowd again this year to listen to this year's presentation on climate change.
And the potluck dishes were delicious!
Heartfelt congratulations to Marie-Josée Parayre for being selected for the 2019 BAOC Service Award. Nominations for the award were submitted by club members, and the recipient was selected by the previous recipients. Thank you Marie-Josée for your continuing service to the club!

- Peter Graube for bringing in all the science equipment and giving the annual science presentation.
- Jeff from the San Jose Unified School District who came to our rescue to open the room after a scheduling lapse left us stranded outside at 5 PM, and to Norberto, the custodian, who came back after he had been working at the school all day to clean up after the event.
Huge thanks to all the people who helped set up the room—the tables, registration, and potluck—and then helped clean up after the event.
And everyone for coming out and participating in the event and the end-of-the-year potluck. I really can't think of a better way to start the holidays.
