ongratulations to BAOC members Bob Cooley and Jay Hann who have been named to the U.S. team for the 2025 World Trail Orienteering Championships (WTOC). BAOC member Gavin Wyatt-Mair will also be attending as a team official.
This year the Championships will take place in Slovakia and Hungary, August 26–31.
For those interested, Trail O is an orienteering variation that involves very precise reading of the map and terrain. Competitors must identify decoys and the appropriate controls shown on the map. It is usually conducted on trails and is accessible to all physical abilities. There is no timing between points nor any route choices — accuracy is the prime objective.
